What a BEEEsy week!
We had a great week of school It flew by so quickly. We had a wonderful guest reader today. Mrs. Diane Foxx my mother in law came to read to the students today. She read Patricia Polacco's The Bee Tree. The students really enjoyed buzzing through the story. Diane brought them each a book with a sweet quote inside each one. She also provided all the tennis balls for out classroom as well! I look forward tasting the edibe cells tommorow. Yummy!

"Grampa took Mary Ellen inside away from the crowd. "Now, child, I am going to show you what my father showed me, and his father before," he said quietly. He spooned the honey onto the cover of one of her books. "Taste," he said, almost in a whisper. . . . "There is such sweetness inside of that book too!" he said thoughtfully. "Such things...adventure, knowledge and wisdom. But these things do not come easily. You have to pursue them. Just like we ran after the bees to find their tree, so you must also chase these things through the pages of a book! "

First Day!

What a wonderful first day of school! Thank you for all the smiling faces and great energy you brought to school today. We started the day with our first anchor song of the year! We did a quick quiz quiz trade to get to know our classmates. We read the Sneetches by Dr. Suess on the carpet. This terrific book teaches us about diversity and equality. The students did some very funny skits about treating others fairly, whether you have a star belly or plain belly! The students went to brunch and afterwards we took a walk through the garden and picked some ripe veggies. Students took home a large take home packet, so we went over what it contained. Whew...that day went by so fast! I look forward to a wonderul year and making many more memories!

I arrived back at Lockeland this week to start the set up process. I dusted and unstacked chairs and desks, trying to get the classroom back in order. I am very excited about the new year. It is coming up so quickly. I can not wait to meet my class and seeing their smiling faces on the first day! We have a new theme this year.....Magical Mystery Tour. I started to decorate my door with tye dye border and smiley faces! I look forward to meeting my groovy group of students! Love, Peace, and Happiness!
